If customers ask for advice on symptoms, use the WWHAM framework, followed by the CARE framework for the recommended product.

If customers ask for a specific product, pick it up off the shelf and say something like “of course”, then use the CARE framework to ensure the product is suitable for them and that they get the advice they need.

Boots Heartburn and Acid Reflux Control 20 mg gastro-resistant capsules (GSL)

Uses: Treats heartburn and acid reflux.

Features and benefits:
• For short-term treatment of heartburn and acid regurgitation
• Suitable for adults aged 18 years and over
• Directions for use: Customers can take one capsule per day. It may take two to three days for full effect
• Advise customers to contact their doctor if their symptoms worsen or do not improve after taking this medicine for 14 days in a row.

Boots Pharmaceuticals Indigestion Relief Tablets (GSL)

Contains: Calcium carbonate

Uses: Effective relief of indigestion, heartburn and wind.

Features and benefits:
• Fast acting
• Peppermint flavour
• Suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and over
• Directions for use: Customers can suck or chew one or two tablets when needed. Advise customers not to take more than 16 tablets in any 24 hour period.
