Self-care tips you can give to customers with dry eye symptoms include:5

  • Clean the eyelids every day
  • Take breaks to rest eyes when using a computer screen
  • Make sure the computer screen is just below eye level
  • Use a humidifier to stop the air getting dry
  • Take out contact lenses and wear glasses to rest the eyes.

Refer customers to an optician or GP if:5

  • A customer still has dry eye symptoms after trying home treatments for a few weeks
  • There’s any change in the shape of the eyelids.
