Introducing the new Lead Pharmacy Technician
A message from Dalvinder Moman, Lead Pharmacy Technician
I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Lead Pharmacy Technician within the Superintendent Pharmacist’s leadership team. Having worked across community and hospital pharmacy, I’ve seen how the role of a pharmacy technician has evolved, and I couldn’t be more excited about the future.
Pharmacy technicians are now more integral to patient care than ever before, delivering essential healthcare services, supporting medicines management, and taking on greater clinical responsibilities. We will embrace every opportunity by investing in our pharmacy technicians through training, professional development, and expanding career pathways. An example is the Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacy Technician training, equipping pharmacy technicians to support customers affected by cancer with trusted information and guidance. Beyond clinical services, pharmacy technicians are also integral to leadership across pharmacy and the wider healthcare sector, taking on key roles to shape the future of pharmacy and enhance patient care. With growing recognition and career pathways, there has never been a better time to develop and grow within this profession.
To all team members reading this, I have three key asks: Support and champion your pharmacy technicians: their expertise and contributions are invaluable, let’s empower them to take on more responsibility and grow in their roles; Embrace opportunities: whether training, mentoring, or stepping into leadership, now is the time to develop; Share your experiences: I want to hear from you - what’s working well, where do you need more support, and how can we continue to elevate the role of pharmacy technicians across Boots?
I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to work alongside so many talented team members. Together, we can continue to make a lasting impact on the future of healthcare and continue driving pharmacy forward.
